Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for the Defense Systems Intern Program. The position is located in Melbourne, FL and is part of the Command and Control Weapons Division. Interns will participate in a summer program to develop competencies across engineering disciplines.

As an intern, you will construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, test, and maintain equipment, operate from drawings, and report data. A full-time Summer 2027 schedule is required, and U.S.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2026.
• Majoring in a STEM degree.
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

Responsibilities

• Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.
• Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
• Operate related equipment; conduct tests and report data in prescribed format.
• Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
• Prepare prescribed compounds and solutions.
