Job summary

Applied Intuition seeks talented software engineers in Ann Arbor to build Axion, a defense data and tooling platform. The role focuses on high-performance C++ software, simulation environments, and multi-domain autonomy infrastructure, with direct impact on national security.

You will collaborate with researchers and customers, own end-to-end engineering workstreams, and contribute to a rapidly evolving product suite in a high-stakes setting.

Qualifications

  • Professional software engineering experience with C++ core.
  • Experience with real-time simulation/game engines (Unreal/Unity).
  • Strong fundamentals in systems programming, concurrency and performance.
  • Interest in simulation, autonomy, robotics, or physical AI.
  • Exposure to multi-domain defense systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement high-performance C++ software for Axion, defense tooling and data platform.
  • Build and extend simulation environments and virtual worlds for autonomous systems testing.
  • Develop scalable infrastructure for multi-domain autonomous operations.
  • Collaborate with autonomy researchers, product teams, and defense customers to translate requirements into robust software.
  • Own end-to-end execution of engineering workstreams from architecture to deployment.
  • Contribute to the San Diego site's rapid buildout and engineering standards.
  • Interface with DoD programs to ensure solutions meet real-world demands.
