Job summary

Applied Intuition in Ann Arbor is seeking software engineers to advance Axion, our defense data and tooling platform. You will design high‑performance C++ software and build scalable simulation environments used to test autonomous systems in edge‑case scenarios.

You will collaborate with researchers, product teams, and defense customers, own end‑to‑end execution, and contribute to cross‑site engineering practices as we scale our defense ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C++ with strong systems programming background.
• Experience with real-time simulation or rendering pipelines.
• Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Strong Python proficiency for tooling and integration.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance C++ software for Axion.
• Extend simulation environments and virtual worlds for testing autonomous systems.
• Develop scalable infrastructure for multi-domain operations.
• Collaborate with researchers, product teams, and defense customers.
• Own end-to-end execution from architecture to deployment.
• Participate in rapid buildout of San Diego site and establish engineering standards.
• Interface with DoD programs to ensure real-world applicability.
