Job summary

SBG Defense in East Butler, PA is seeking a Project Engineer to manage defense programs from start to finish. This hands-on engineering role requires collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Production and other departments to ensure schedules, deliverables, and customer specifications are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of engineering leadership or project engineering experience, preferably in defense/manufacturing.
• Experience with defense contracts, customer specs, qualification requirements or technical documentation preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day lifecycle of assigned defense programs.
• Coordinate PPAP, FAT, and SAR activities with Engineering and Quality.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Review solicitations and identify technical, contractual, testing, qualification, and documentation needs.
• Review and interpret government contracts, customer specs, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate testing activities and complete required forms and documentation.
• Support manufacturing floor with hands-on problem solving and on-time project execution.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals and deadlines.
