Job summary

Aquila Technology is seeking a Business / Data Analyst to support a premier defense research organization. The role focuses on PLM and Digital Engineering environments, translating engineering needs into functional specs and coordinating across engineers, developers, and QA.

The candidate will analyze engineering workflows, data exchanges with ERP/MES, and drive continuous improvement while working onsite 2 days/week near Lexington, MA. Strong communication and SDLC experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, CS, IS, business analytics, data science.
• 5+ years supporting PLM platforms.
• Experience with PLM and product data management, engineering data management.
• Experience working with engineers, researchers, or technical SMEs.
• Translating complex needs into functional requirements and tests.
• Strong Agile/SDLC experience and enablement of enterprise systems.
• Understanding ERP and MES integration with PLM.
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments with clear outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineers, researchers, and stakeholders to understand workflows and improvement opportunities.
• Perform systems analysis of engineering workflows, product data, and data flows.
• Lead stakeholder interviews and translate needs into requirements and use cases.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, QA, and product owners throughout design and delivery.
• Evaluate data structures, configurations, and integrations to propose solutions.
• Analyze PLM and related enterprise systems, including ERP data exchanges.
• Support configuration, testing, validation, and defect analysis.
• Facilitate discussions and validate requirements with prototypes or working software.
• Recommend improvements for collaboration, traceability, and data quality.
