Job summary

Network Runners, Inc. seeks an Authored Works Review Editor to support DHA and WRNMMC Hospital Communications. You will oversee the editorial lifecycle, ensure voice consistency, and guard accuracy for public-facing materials.

Responsibilities include coordinating with authors, subject matter experts, and legal counsel; enforcing style guidelines; and safeguarding HIPAA/PHI while meeting tight deadlines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field.
• Five or more years of editing, copyediting, or technical writing.
• Exceptional command of English grammar, punctuation, and AP Style.
• Proven experience in healthcare communications, military public affairs, or a similar regulated environment.
• Thorough understanding of and ability to safeguard HIPAA and PHI.
• Project management experience with editorial calendars and multi-author publications.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong ethical commitment to accuracy and source verification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required background investigation and CAC access.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end editorial lifecycle for public-facing materials.
• Develop and maintain an editorial calendar and track documents through review stages.
• Perform detailed editing, copyediting, and proofreading for clarity and AP Style.
• Conduct rigorous fact-checking and source verification for claims and statistics.
• Coordinate with authors, subject matter experts, legal counsel, and Public Affairs leadership.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce organizational style guidance.
• Manage final clearance and package documents for review before release.
• Ensure HIPAA/PHI safeguarding and privacy compliance.
