Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites, delivering an unprecedented dataset via a cloud-based platform to commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors. The role anchors the link between Planet's shared platform and Defense & Intelligence solutions, translating workflows into platform specs for high-consequence environments.

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in the US, with 3 days/week from SF or Arlington.

Qualifications

• Experience bridging core platform teams and technical field teams (FDE, Solutions Engineering).
• Strong understanding of geospatial data platforms, cloud architectures, APIs, extension layers, and analytics/ML pipelines.
• Ability to separate generalizable platform capabilities from one-off customizations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Forward Deployed Engineers on delivery and translate recurring patterns into durable platform capabilities.
• Prioritize mission requirements for shared platform vs. single customer solutions.
• Keep D&I mission requirements visible against company-wide objectives and timelines.
• Consolidate inputs into a prioritized D&I product roadmap across field engineering, sales, and PM.
• Evolve GMS and MDA capabilities into packaged D&I offerings aligned with defense procurement models.
