Job summary

LG Energy Solution Michigan, Inc. seeks a Manager, Defect Engineering to lead defect reduction and continuous improvement in lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing. You will guide root-cause analysis, preventative actions, and cross-functional collaboration to drive product quality and process performance.

Lead the Defect Engineering team, set priorities, monitor KPIs, and mentor engineers while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and accountability across the operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
• Experience leading engineering teams and defect reduction initiatives.
• Strong root cause analysis and corrective action capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead Defect Engineering team and set priorities with quality, production, and business objectives.
• Develop and execute strategies to reduce manufacturing defects and contamination.
• Monitor defect trends, KPIs, and process performance to identify risks.
