Job summary

Cherry Creek Careers is seeking an Instructional Para Educator to assist students under the direction of a licensed staff member, helping individuals or small groups with basic curriculum work, implementing programming, reinforcing learning skills, and reinforcing discipline procedures.

You will also assist the classroom teacher by preparing materials, monitoring students, and evaluating and recording student achievement, with potential work with behaviorally challenging children.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
• No professional work experience required.
• Title I assignments: two years of college, associate’s degree, or demonstrated knowledge via assessment in reading, writing, math.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in preparing materials, administering tests, grading, attendance and documentation.
• Assist students with classroom activities and curriculum delivery for individuals and small groups.
• Monitor students and reinforce appropriate behavior during activities (play, lunch, detention, classroom, field trips).
• Perform basic clerical work for the classroom teacher (typing, filing, inventory, data entry, supplies).
• Assist with field trips or fire drills as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
