Job summary

Virtua Health in New Jersey is seeking a One to One Observer to provide constant patient observation and support to the healthcare team. This role requires communicating effectively with patients, families, and staff to maintain a safe and ethical environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients closely, responding to status changes, and assisting in the orientation of team members. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with completion of the Observer course or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills.
• Successful completion of Observer course or equivalent is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provides constant one-to-one observation of assigned patient in a calm environment.
• Provides restraint care to patients in restraints.
• Identifies and communicates changes in patient’s status to RN and responds appropriately.
• Assists in orientation of healthcare team.
• Other duties as assigned.
