Job summary

Centerline Logistics Corporation is seeking a deckhand to keep vessels ready for service and to perform tasks as directed by the Captain or Mate. Responsibilities include tying and handling lines, operating the tug, fueling, cleaning, and basic maintenance of tugs and barges.

Required qualifications include prior deckhand experience, a valid first aid/CPR certificate, completion of HAZWOPER training within 30 days of hire, and the ability to communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

• Deckhand experience preferred.
• Valid first aid/CPR certificate.
• Complete HAZWOPER training within 30 days of hire.
• Must be able to comprehend and respond to orders from captain or mate.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Valid state driver’s license and TWIC.

Responsibilities

• Deck must be cleaned and free of lines; make up tows as directed by Captain or Mate.
• Work aboard boats and barges using lines, winches and basic repairs.
• Operate radio and steer the tug; fuel tug as needed.
• Loading supplies and general cleanup of tugs and barges.
• Perform painting and galley duties as required.
