Job summary

Centerline Logistics is seeking a deckhand to maintain vessels and assist with tow operations. You will follow directions from the Captain or Mate, handle lines, wires, and hoses, and perform general vessel maintenance on tug and barge operations.

Responsibilities include deck housekeeping, training, line handling, lubrication services, and basic galley duties. Candidates should be able to work weekends or nights and communicate effectively in English, with a valid driver’s license and TWIC.

Qualifications

• Previous deckhand experience preferred.
• Must be able to follow orders from Captain or Mate.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Must have safety awareness and firefighting understanding.

Responsibilities

• Deck must be kept clean and ready; make up tows as directed.
• Train deckhands in required skills by Captain or Mate.
• Work aboard boats and barges using lines, winches, and basic tools.
• Participate in any supervisor‑scheduled training.
• Knot tying, line/wire splicing, heaving lines, and signaling.
