Job summary

Qualifications

• MMC license issued by the U.S. Coast Guard
• U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Medical Certificate
• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) issued by TSA

Responsibilities

• Adhere to COI provisions per 46 CFR 140.210 (1).
• Clean and scour machinery spaces and equipment.
• Clean living quarters, including personal quarters, wheelhouse, and galley.
• Follow the Towing Safety Management System (TSMS) and all regulations.
• Conduct machinery maintenance.
• Duties as directed by the Chief Engineer; report to OICNW when not on deck duties.
• Maintain engine room cleanliness and safe housekeeping.
• Make up lines for vessel handling.
• Minimize distractions to safely perform duties; inform OICNW of vessel conditions.
• Report unsafe conditions to the Master or OICNW and take corrective action.
