Job summary

United Bulk Terminals in Davant, LA seeks Marine Deckhands to support barge and tug movements on the Mississippi River. You will work a 2 weeks on / 1 week off rotation, operating aboard vessels with a safety-focused, collaborative crew. Candidates must be physically fit, able to pass pre-employment checks, and communicate in English.

Qualifications

  • TWIC required.
  • Ability to work 2 weeks on / 1 week off, including holidays and weekends.
  • Physically fit to pull heavy lines/hoses, lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights up to 160 feet.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

  • Move and position barges and tugs along the Mississippi River safely and efficiently.
  • Operate in a rotational schedule as part of a crew.
  • Collaborate with deck crew to maintain safety and productivity on board.
  • Adapt to confined quarters and variable weather conditions aboard vessels.

Marine Deckhands - United Bulk Terminals - 14/7 - Davant, LA

Deckhands at T. Parker Host play a vital role in the daily operations of United Bulk Terminals in Davant, Louisiana. Working on a rotational schedule, these team members ensure the safe and efficient movement of barges and tugs along the Mississippi River. The ideal candidates are adaptable, safety-focused, and thrive in a collaborative, high-pressure marine environment.

What You’ll Need
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
  • Ability to work 2 weeks on / 1 week off, including holidays and weekends
  • Ability to get along with crew members in confined quarters for prolonged periods
  • Physically fit: able to pull heavy lines/hoses, lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights up to 160 feet
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions and aboard boats and barges
  • Meet ’fit for duty’ requirements (pre-employment physical and drug test)
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English
