Job summary

Hornblower Group is seeking a Deckhand to uphold guest comfort and safety aboard a Coast Guard-inspected passenger vessel operating from Chicago. The position entails assisting with docking and undocking, maintaining vessel cleanliness, and supporting crew under safety protocols.

The role requires the ability to work on a moving vessel in varying conditions, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed by RESPECT system.
• Follow safety procedures to protect passengers and vessel.
• Participate in routine safety drills for major incidents.
• Handle lines to moor vessels to pier.
• Stand watch to monitor navigational aids and ship path.
• Assist with maintaining vessel equipment and systems such as HVAC and engine.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of all public areas.
• Work flexible schedules as needed by operations.
