Job summary

Klover Contracting, Inc. is seeking a Structural Ironworker – Deck & Joists to install a variety of flooring systems, structural steel, and panel systems. The role requires reading blueprints, following work orders, and may involve welding and fabrication using common shop tools.

Candidates with stick welding and AWS certifications are preferred. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, trade curriculum experience, and at least one year with floor joists, metal deck, or structural

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Participation in a secondary or post-secondary trade curriculum.
• 1+ year experience with floor joist, metal deck, or structural steel installation.
• Knowledge and understanding of construction safety devices and PPE.
• 1+ year experience with stick welding. Current AWS D1.1 SMAW 3G and AWS D1.1 SMAW 4G certifications, AWS D1.5 SMAW 3G and 4G are preferred (optional).
• Rigging and Signaling experience is a plus.
• Basic carpentry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Accurately measure and read height, width, length, and other proportions with a tape measure.
• Assist foreman with proper layout for work to be put in place.
• Fabricate or alter parts using grinders, sawzalls, shears, hammers, punches, or drills.
• Join materials with PAFs, nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
• Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and lasers to ensure everything is level and secure.
• Check work along the way to ensure it meets specification and quality standards.
• Install/use rigging and hoisting equipment.
• Install flooring systems according to specifications and building codes.
• Maneuver units into position for installation, and anchor the units.
• Perform welds using stick processes for joists or deck in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions (optional).
• Work at heights with several elevated platforms.
• Keep work area clean and productive.
• Always exercise the proper use of PPE.
• Set up and safely use company equipment.
• Maintain welding certification through maintenance logs and supervisor observation.
