Job summary

Klover Contracting Inc. is seeking a Commercial Structural Joist Technician to install structural flooring systems including Comslab, EcoSpan, Hambro, and metal decking.

You will read blueprints, assist foremen with layout, and fabricate/assemble components on varied projects within the Tri-State area. The role requires familiarity with PPE and safety policies, ability to work at heights, and potential stick welding.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required or equivalent
• Participation in a trade program is preferred
• 1+ year experience with floor joist, metal deck, or structural steel installation
• AWS D1.1 SMAW 3G/4G certs preferred (optional)

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
• Assist foreman with layout and fabrication
• Fabricate/alter parts using grinders, saws, punches, and drills
• Join materials with nails, screws, adhesives, or fasteners
• Install flooring systems per specs and building codes
• Perform welds as needed (stick welding) in various positions
• Use rigging and hoisting equipment safely
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Adhere to PPE and safety policies
• Maintain welding certification through logs and oversight
