Job summary

Figeac Aero North America is seeking a Deburr Specialist to join our manufacturing team in Wichita, KS. You will grind, file, sand and polish metal surfaces on large aerospace parts, inspect dimensions and ensure burr-free finishes.

Candidates need 1 year of hands-on experience with hand tools, the ability to read blueprints, and willingness to work either 1st or 2nd shift with required overtime. A high school diploma is required and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years' experience in manufacturing or aerospace environment, preferred
• Previous experience with hand tools and grinders
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Machine shop experience preferred
• Must have the ability to be flexible on shift
• Self-motivated and produce quality work
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Reliable transportation to work
• Good attitude and willing to work as a team player

Responsibilities

• Grind, file, sand and polish metal surfaces to a specified shape & smoothness using grinding hand tools on large dimension aerospace parts in excess of +20 ft.
• Lift and position metal parts on bench
• Remove burrs and smooth out contoured surfaces with power tools
• Verify dimensions and radius, using micrometers, dial indicators and calipers as needed
• Inspect and measure parts
• Ensure organized and clean work area
• Perform other duties as assigned and necessary

Deburr Specialist

Shift:

1st Shift Monday - Friday 6am - 2:30 pm

2nd Shift Monday-Friday; 2pm - 10:30pm; overtime may be required

Starting Pay Rate

: $16.00 - $19.00/hr - dependent upon experience

Shift Differential:

$0.75 per hour for 2nd shift

Experience:

1 year experience with hand tools is required

Working Conditions:

• Some overtime may be necessary
• Ability to regularly and frequently lift 50 pounds
• Will be exposed to constant activity that requires intermittent standing, bending, crouching, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, moving, carrying light and heavy loads, and climbing stairs and ladders.
• Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate small power tools and other equipment for extended periods of time.
