Job summary

Flex is a diversified manufacturing partner helping brands design, build, and deliver innovative products. We are seeking a skilled technician to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical assemblies at the component level in a fast-paced setting.

You will operate oscilloscopes and other test equipment, provide guidance to colleagues, and collaborate with engineering on issues and updates. Training and documentation duties are also part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Able to troubleshoot complex mechanical/electrical assemblies.
  • Proficient with electronic test equipment and procedures.
  • Ability to write reports, procedures, and training materials.
  • Provide technical guidance to other technicians and teams.
  • Capable of training others on PCBA debugging.

Principle Accountabilities:
  • Troubleshoots and repairs complex mechanical and electrical assemblies used in equipment at the component level.
  • Operates electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and conducts special tests as required.
  • Provides technical assistance and guidance to other technical personnel.
  • Collaborates with engineering on functionality issues and procedure updates.
  • Presents training, when necessary, to the new build and service assembler teams.
  • Contributes to the development of work instructions, batch records, equipment logs, material specifications and other device history documents.
  • Helps monitor productivity of our equipment by tracking yields and equipment cycle rates.
  • Assists with the installation, debug and validation of process equipment.
  • Follows all safety guidelines and reports unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Develops and maintains Debug Guide to troubleshoot PCBA.
  • Provides training and PCBA debugging guidance to other debug technicians.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Has awareness of new technologies/ techniques. Demonstrates detailed functional knowledge and may lead process. Demonstrates advanced technical skills.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Scope / Impact

Moderate impact. May have influence on multiple programs or areas.

Decision Making / Discretion

Limited expectations to make decisions outside immediate work assignments. Decisions only affect individual.

Supervision / Leadership

Requires general instructions on routine assignments and detailed instructions on new assignments. Typically requires close supervision.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, work that requires repetitive motion, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
