Job summary

Flex is seeking a skilled technician for the Memphis shift to set up, calibrate, test and troubleshoot electronic and mechanical assemblies. The role involves following procedures, recording repair data and using testers, oscilloscopes and power supplies to ensure unit serviceability.

Ideal candidates have an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience and about 4 years in related work, with the ability to read procedures and communicate findings effectively.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret test procedures and schematics.
  • Wamiliarity with electronic and mechanical components and sub assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Perform hand set-ups for digital tests.
  • Recognize failures and determine verification needs.
  • Record required information on repairs and publication discrepancies.
  • Operate programmable auto-testers, samplers, oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters and power supplies.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and information sessions as assigned.

Shift Time: Memphis - 3:00 pm - 12:00am M, T, W, Th, F

Responsible for undertaking all actions necessary to render the unit serviceable, including cleaning, testing, performance evaluation of electronic and mechanical components and sub assemblies. Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Perform the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Perform hand set‑ups for digital tests.
  • Recognize failures and set‑up problems and determine need for appropriate verification.
  • Record required information on all repairs and publication discrepancies.
  • Operate programmable auto‑testers, samplers, real‑time oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies, and special test fixtures.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars, as assigned for conveying and gathering information required to perform job functions.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, work that requires repetitive motion, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
