Job summary

Chatham Financial is seeking a Director to lead the Debt Valuation practice, delivering complex fair value analyses for institutional clients from scoping to final delivery.

You will apply sophisticated valuation methodologies, interpret loan agreements, and coordinate with auditors and clients. The role blends technical valuation expertise with strong client-management and leadership responsibilities across engagements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in valuation, credit, fixed income analytics, CRE, or related field.
• Strong ability to explain valuation approaches and conclusions to clients and auditors.
• Experience managing client engagements end-to-end with senior stakeholders and auditors.
• Experience interpreting loan agreements, credit documents and financial statements.
• Familiarity with ASC 820 fair value reporting is preferred; CFA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery of fair value analyses for complex debt instruments from scoping to final deliverable.
• Apply and explain valuation methodologies across debt structures.
• Interpret loan agreements and financial statements to identify valuation inputs.
• Build and review valuation models and ensure they reflect current market conditions.
• Serve as primary contact with auditors and support audit cycles.
• Manage relationships with senior client stakeholders and present conclusions.
• Monitor capital markets, credit spreads, and rate trends for valuation assumptions.
• Identify improvements to valuation processes, tools, and quality controls.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to team capabilities.
