Job summary

Chatham Financial seeks a Director for its Debt Valuation practice to lead technical and client-facing engagements. You will manage complex engagements end-to-end, mentor teammates, and present valuation conclusions to senior clients and auditors.

You will apply robust valuation methodologies to varied debt structures, monitor market conditions, and contribute to process improvements and technical capabilities across the team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in valuation, credit, fixed income analytics, commercial real estate, or related field.
• Deep knowledge of valuation methodologies and underlying principles; ability to explain conclusions.
• Experience managing client engagements end to end with senior stakeholders and auditors.
• Advanced Excel modeling skills, including discounted cash flow and scenario analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex concepts for clients and auditors.
• Experience interpreting loan agreements, credit agreements, and financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery of fair value analyses for complex debt instruments from scoping to final deliverable.
• Apply and support valuation methodologies across debt structures; articulate principles and assumptions.
• Interpret loan agreements and financial statements to identify inputs and structural considerations.
• Build and review valuation models; ensure methods reflect market conditions and withstand scrutiny.
• Serve as primary contact with auditors; support audit and financial reporting cycles including ASC 820.
• Manage relationships with senior client stakeholders; present conclusions and address questions.
• Monitor capital markets, credit spreads, and rate trends to maintain credible assumptions.
• Identify and drive improvements to valuation processes, tools, and quality control.
