Our client is seeking a Debt Recovery Paralegal with 3+ years of experience to join their team supporting community association collections, including court filings, discovery, client communication, and recovery matters.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Open and manage collection files, request documents, prepare correspondence, and maintain electronic and physical case files.
- Handle e-filing, calendars, hearing/trial scheduling, service of process, payments, and database updates.
- Draft motions, petitions, proposed orders, discovery documents, and responses under attorney supervision.
- Review account ledgers, calculate payoff amounts, respond to client/court/debtor inquiries, and conduct legal research.
- Assist attorneys with hearings, trials, discovery, and trial preparation while maintaining timely, professional client and court communication.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Paralegal Certificate or Degree preferred.
- 3+ years of paralegal or legal assistant experience in a law firm.
- 2+ years of experience or exposure to debt collection and FDCPA practices.
- Strong written/verbal communication, attention to detail, organization, initiative, and client-service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; case management software experience preferred.
