Job summary

Gunderson Dettmer seeks a junior or mid-level associate to join its Debt Financing group in Boston or New York. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of direct experience structuring and negotiating commercial loan facilities and other secured transactions.

The attorney will counsel venture-backed and public companies on debt financing, interact with CEOs, boards, and general partners, and collaborate with a team focused on startups and life sciences funding.

Qualifications

• JD 2022-2024.
• Experience at a BigLaw firm or debt finance boutique required.
• Admitted or eligible to waive into the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or New York State bar.
• Eagerness to work with tech and life sciences companies and venture funds.
• Representing lenders or borrowers in debt finance transactions including venture debt, recurring revenue loans, asset-based lending, fund finance, and other debt financings.
• Experience with bilateral and syndicated loan structures is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Counsel startup and venture-backed companies on debt financing and secured transactions.
• Interface with clients, including CEOs, boards of directors, and venture funds.
• Engage in significant client contact and collaboration within Gunderson Dettmer's Debt Financing group.
