Job summary

Gunderson Dettmer seeks a junior or mid-level associate to join its Debt Financing group in Boston or New York. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of direct experience structuring and negotiating commercial loan facilities and other secured transactions.

The attorney will counsel venture-backed and public companies on debt financing, interact with CEOs, boards, and general partners, and collaborate with a team focused on startups and life sciences funding.

Qualifications

• JD 2022-2024.
• Experience at a BigLaw firm or debt finance boutique required.
• Admitted or eligible to waive into the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or New York State bar.
• Eagerness to work with tech and life sciences companies and venture funds.
• Representing lenders or borrowers in debt finance transactions including venture debt, recurring revenue loans, asset-based lending, fund finance, and other debt financings.
• Experience with bilateral and syndicated loan structures is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are highly valued.

We are seeking a motivated, team-oriented, and collaborative attorney who is excited about working with clients in the startup and venture capital ecosystem. Your practice at Gunderson will involve counseling both venture-backed and public companies in all aspects of debt financing and secured transactions. You will have significant client contact, and must be comfortable interacting with CEOs, Boards of Directors, and general partners of venture funds.

Job Requirements
