Requirements include a Juris Doctorate and Illinois Bar admission. Strong discretion, knowledge of collection laws, and excellent written and verbal communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate with Illinois Bar admission is required or equivalent.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
• Expert knowledge of applicable Federal and State collection laws.
• Typing speed of 40 words per minute or faster.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent grammar.
• Analytical problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Understanding of company and client policies; proper documentation.
• Courtroom experience is a plus.
• Collections law experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interact with opposing counsel, consumers and other parties regarding settlements.
• Access and respond to settlements via e-mails and POA mailbox.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the firm’s record systems (CLS).
• Provide sent/received emails to designated staff as required.
• Handle telephonic and written contact with opposing counsel and consumers.
• Gain knowledge of litigation processes and firm policies.
