Job summary

LAWRENCE HIGH is seeking a Debate Assistant Sponsor to coordinate and guide student participants in academic/activity clubs, aligning with district policies and promoting participation. This role reports to the School Activities Director and the School Principal, with a focus on coaching students for competitive events and leadership development.

Position involves stipend-based compensation for current USD 497 certified staff or hourly pay for others, with responsibilities including supervision,

Qualifications

• Current certified staff (preferred)
• Activity specific experience considered
• Must be CPR/AED certified or willing to obtain and maintain certification

Responsibilities

• Assists the head sponsor in coordinating activities for the program during the school year and summer.
• Guides students in developing program objectives and tasks for the year.
• Participates in program meetings to provide guidance and ensure objectives are achieved.
• Promotes the program to increase interest and participation.
• Supervises students in activities ensuring safety and alignment with district standards.
• Transports students to scheduled events as needed.
• Performs other duties to support the activities program and sponsor.
• Supports the head sponsor and the total activities program across the district.
