Position Summary

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to serve as the Dean’s Assistant for our General Education and Transfer Programs area. The ideal candidate provides high-level administrative, project and clerical support while acting as a liaison between the Dean, faculty, students, and external stakeholders, simultaneously managing schedules and calendars, confidential information and other daily academic operations.

Required Education/Experience
  • Associate degree and four (4) years of clerical, customer service, or office experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
  • Bachelor degree in any related field.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent technical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills is crucial to the success of this role.

Duty and Responsibility
  1. Performs a variety of administrative activities, which may include: making travel arrangements; scheduling and coordinating meetings and/or events; transcribing meeting minutes; preparing and reviewing financial and/or statistical reports; and planning and coordinating schedules; and managing calendars.
  2. Collects, compiles, prepares, reviews, and records paperwork, databases, spreadsheets, applications, forms, reports, and/or confidential information related to assigned area of responsibility, ensuring completeness and accuracy of information; maintains related records.
  3. Performs a variety of technical accounting duties including monitoring budgets, accounts, billings, and/or expenditures.
  4. May prioritize and assign work to lower level staff, monitor the performance of lower level staff; and train staff on work methods and procedures.
  5. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
