Job summary

Antelope Valley College seeks a Dean to provide executive leadership for institutional research, data analytics, accreditation, and integrated planning. The role focuses on driving accountability, transparency, and evidence-based decision-making across instruction, student services, and administration.

You will lead strategic planning, dashboards, and reporting, while overseeing staff and budgets to support student access, equity, retention, and completion goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in institutional research, statistics, data analytics, social sciences, higher education, educational leadership, public administration, or closely related field.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in institutional research, accreditation, accountability, data analytics, or institutional effectiveness within higher education.
• Three (3) years of supervisory or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides executive leadership and strategic direction for institutional research, data analytics, accreditation, accountability, integrated planning, Program Review, and innovation initiatives.
• Leads integrated planning, forecasting, and decision-support efforts with strategic priorities and enrollment management.
• Leads accreditation processes and ensures ongoing compliance with standards and timelines.
• Ensures reporting compliance for state, federal, and system agencies including accreditation bodies.
• Directs data collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination on enrollment, student success, equity, completion, and accountability metrics.
• Oversees dashboards, scorecards, and analytic tools to support transparency and decision-making.
• Establishes data governance, privacy, and ethical research standards across the College.
• Advises the College President and governance bodies on performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Oversees research studies, surveys, and assessments to meet information needs.
• Monitors policy and standards affecting community colleges and recommends actions.
• Prepares technical analyses and executive narratives for leadership and governance groups.
• Supervises institutional research and accreditation staff; manages priorities and workflows.
• Manages departmental budgets, contracts, and resources for effectiveness priorities.
• Coordinates data analysis with planning and proposal alignment to equity goals.
• Collaborates to implement data-informed programs improving student success and effectiveness.
• Develops evaluation frameworks and outcomes reporting for continuous improvement.
• Represents the College in professional organizations and statewide meetings.
• Participates in shared governance and cross-campus initiatives.
