Tarleton State University seeks a Dean of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources to provide strategic leadership across academic departments, research, and outreach. The Dean will guide budget, fundraising, and external partnerships to advance Tarleton’s mission and pursue R1 status.

Qualifications

Earned terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in a field housed in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
Record of scholarship, teaching, and service supporting appointment as a tenured full professor.
Demonstrated academic leadership experience in higher education (dean/associate dean/chair).
Strong fiscal stewardship and ability to manage budgets and personnel.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and executive oversight for the College’s departments, research, outreach, and budget.
Advance student success, academic excellence, and applied learning aligned with Tarleton’s goals.
Build partnerships with industry, agencies, alumni, and donors to raise the College’s visibility.
Lead planning, budget management, and collaboration across college programs and resources.
Represent the college internally and externally and ensure compliance with policies.
