Job summary
The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of the State of Nevada is recruiting a Sign Language Interpreter/Translation Specialist in Reno to produce ASL video translations of printed, web, and video materials for state government agencies. The role includes outreach to state agencies on interpreting and communication access, with ethical standards guiding practice.
The ideal candidate will hold Deaf Interpreter certification, have strong sight translation and government-setting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- Current and valid Deaf Interpreter certification from RID CDI, BEI DI, or equivalent.
- Registration with the Nevada Interpreter/CART Registry within 30 days of acceptance.
- Experience translating written and/or video materials into ASL.
- Experience providing interpreting services in government settings.
Responsibilities
- Produce video translations into ASL of printed, web, and video materials for state government.
- Provide outreach to state agencies on interpreting and communication access.
- Adhere to NAD RID Code of Professional Conduct and ethics in interpretation.
