Job summary

Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) in Springville seeks a Paraprofessional for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to assist a classroom instructor and nurses with students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The role is part-time for the 26-27 school year and ends in June 2027.

The position requires supportive instructional assistance, student care support, and collaboration with teachers to foster learning and development. A valid Utah driver license is preferred and ASL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Able to use basic classroom techniques and stay organized.
• American Sign Language skills preferred.
• Clear and effective communication with students, families, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Ability to drive a state vehicle is required.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of a Teacher of the Deaf to support instruction and prepare materials.
• Provide individual or small-group assistance to students and monitor progress.
• Assist with student care needs, including daily living activities.
• Support behavior interventions and motivation across academic and daily living tasks.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to services provided.
