Job summary

ProCare Therapy seeks a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for a maternity leave coverage near San Diego, CA. This full-time itinerant position serves students from preschool through adult transition, delivering instruction and consultative services in collaboration with staff and families.

The ideal candidate holds a valid DHH teaching certification and has experience across diverse ages and abilities, with strong communication and teamwork skills and a focus on evidence-based

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certification with Deaf/Hard of Hearing authorization (or eligibility).
• Experience with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across a range of ages and abilities.
• Familiarity with individualized education plan (IEP) processes and compliance.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with school teams and families.
• Ability to implement evidence-based instructional strategies and technology to promote access and student achievement.
• Comfort with both itinerant and consultative service delivery models.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct instruction and support, adapting lessons to various language and communication modalities.
• Provide consultatory guidance and resources to staff, students, and families.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals according to state and federal guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records and timely communication.
• Foster a positive, accessible learning environment that encourages student independence.
