Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety attained on the job or through training.
• Interpersonal skills to establish effective relationships with residents and staff.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Current Food Handlers card issued by local Health Department required.
• Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) and tactile sign language is ideal for this Deaf community setting.

Responsibilities

• Accurately recording and delivering meal and beverage orders from residents.
• Promptly delivering food and beverages to residents and presenting them attractively.
• Provide attentive, friendly service and check on residents during meals.
• Set up dining room before meals and maintain cleanliness during service.
• Clear tables after meals and reset for next service.
• Take and deliver room service orders to residents' apartments.
• Know the menu and answer questions about food and dietary needs.
• Interact professionally with residents and guests to create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures and collaborate with staff.
