Job summary

Mesquite ISD is seeking an Instructional Support staff member to assist in Deaf education settings, supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. The role involves helping implement classroom activities, adapting materials to individual needs, and working under the supervision of a certified teacher.

This full-time position requires collaboration, patience, and strong communication to ensure student safety and progress throughout the day.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Texas Educational Aide Certificate required.
• Experience with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Deaf education teacher in preparing instructional materials.
• Assist with the instructional program under supervision of a certified teacher.
• Maintain administrative records and prepare reports as assigned.
• Assist students with physical needs and daily living activities as required.
• Supervise students during various parts of the day and support substitute teachers.
