Job summary

Mesquite ISD in Texas seeks a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Elementary Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support for students with hearing impairments.

You will plan lessons, collaborate with regular teachers, attend ARD meetings, and develop Individual Education Plans while ensuring TEA compliance and data accuracy. This full-time role reports to the Principal/Executive Director of Special Education and supports district goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in any field is required.
• Current Texas Deaf & Hard of Hearing certificate or eligibility to obtain such certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and provide appropriate learning experiences for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Collaborate with regular classroom teachers to plan lessons and adapt instruction.
• Attend ARD meetings for students with hearing impairments and communicate with families.
• Develop and update Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
• Maintain pupil accounting records and TEA compliance.
