Job summary

Mn State Academies invites applications for the MSAD Special Teacher-Secondary Program. This role supports Deaf/Hard of Hearing and Deaf/Blind students, delivering academic instruction with ASL-proficient requirements. The position runs ten months per year, aligned with the school calendar, including July summer school weeks.

A Minnesota DHH teaching license or eligibility is required. Responsibilities include designing instructional programs and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Deaf/hard of hearing Minnesota Teacher license or have the ability to obtain one prior to the start date.
• Knowledge of the deaf/hard of hearing and deaf/blind students and educational practices.
• Fluency in American Sign Language.
• Ability to read and write English to understand written policies and education plans and to maintain records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and delivery of academic instructional programs for Deaf/HH or Deaf/Blind students.
• Provide educational instruction and use a variety of techniques to encourage appropriate behaviors.
• Work under general supervision with a ten-month schedule following the school calendar.

Skills

Fluency in American Sign Language
