Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher for a school setting in Oswego, IL. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in student success by empowering students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing through specialized instruction, collaboration, and support that drives academic success, communication growth, and independence. **Why Join Us*** Competitive pay (Up to $60/hour) + steady school-year schedule* W-2 employment with liability insurance included* Healthcare benefits\\* + 401(k) with company match* Reimbursement for licensure, CEUs, and professional expenses* Mileage stipend between sites + referral bonuses**What You’ll Do*** Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.* Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations.* Conduct assessments and use data to guide instructional decisions.* Support development of communication skills, including spoken language, sign language, and/or total communication approaches.* Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies.* Work with related service providers (e.g., audiologists, speech-language pathologists).* Provide training and support to staff regarding hearing loss and classroom accommodations.* Monitor and maintain assistive listening devices and hearing technology.* Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.* Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with IDEA and district policies.**What We’re Looking For*** Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).* Valid Illinois state teaching certification and endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility for certification).* Knowledge of hearing impairments, language development, and instructional strategies.* Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred (or willingness to obtain).* Experience working with students with hearing loss in a school setting preferred, not required.* Strong communication and collaboration skills**About Ampersand Therapy**Ampersand Therapy is a women and therapist-operated company built by providers who understand school-based work.
