Job summary

Ampersand Therapy LLC in Seattle seeks a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist for the 2026–2027 school year. The itinerant role supports students across multiple school sites in-person.

You will deliver specialized instruction, assess communication needs, develop and monitor IEPs, adapt materials, and collaborate with families, interpreters, audiologists, and school teams. This position offers a collaborative, supportive environment with strong district partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Valid state teaching credential with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in deaf education, special education, or related field.
  • Ability to travel between school sites.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Assess students’ communication, language, academic, and accessibility needs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Adapt curriculum and classroom materials to support student access.
  • Consult with general education teachers and school teams regarding accommodations.
  • Support the use of hearing technology, assistive devices, and communication systems.
  • Collaborate with families, interpreters, audiologists, and related service providers.
  • Maintain accurate progress notes, service records, and educational documentation.
  • Travel between assigned school sites as needed.
