Position Overview

The Director of Nursing will oversee all aspects of medical care within the DDS programs in conjunction with OPWDD and The Salvation Army. Responsibilities include supervising up to 96 persons supported, mentoring a team of five nurses, ensuring compliance through audits, and collaborating with staff and families to improve service quality. The role requires assessing patient needs, managing complex conditions, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff and oversee medical services across multiple facilities.
• Conduct routine audits and ensure compliance with OPWDD, CMS, and DOH guidelines.
• Train staff and facilitate quality assurance processes.
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement policies.
• Participate in discharge planning and care assessments.
• Manage regulatory risks and implement corrective actions.
• Travel to facilities for management support and audits.
• Ensure high standards of patient care and documentation.
• Lead and participate in committees and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Current NY State RN license, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Master's preferred).
• Supervisory experience and proficiency in MS Office.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
