Job summary

CMS Controls in North Carolina seeks a DDC Application Engineer to design and support BAS projects from preliminary design through closeout. You will select devices, prepare control drawings, and generate submittals while coordinating with project teams on budgets and schedules.

The role requires engineering fundamentals, hands-on design work, and the ability to support installation, start-up, and commissioning activities for successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 2+ years of Controls Applications Engineering experience
• Advanced computer skills with Visio, CAD and Office programs
• Knowledge of BAS, HVAC and electrical systems
• Strong written and verbal communication and organization
• Knowledge of Tridium, Distech and Siemens is a plus

Responsibilities

• Select building automation products and end devices for energy management based on project inputs
• Create control drawings with flow diagrams, sequences of operation and bill of materials
• Produce submittals with product data sheets and respond to RFIs from the design team
• Attend pre-construction meetings to align estimates and scope
• Select cost-effective, reliable controls per specs to meet budget
• Complete projects on time and maintain design documents
• Maintain UL documentation and support with site turnover
