Job summary

Evonik Corporation in Etowah, TN, seeks an experienced Process Control Engineer to maintain plant control system components and support automation upgrades. You will run regular reports, identify memory/processing bottlenecks, and drive improvements with the technical team.

You will coordinate scope with Capital Projects, ensure proper documentation and safety standards, and oversee alarm management and mechanical integrity of automation systems.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in process control, programming or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility or 10 years with demonstrated achievements.
• Experience in an industrial environment preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant control system components and ensure productivity targets.
• Run monthly, quarterly and annual reports and backups and coordinate with technical team to address findings.
• Drive improvements for memory and processing bottlenecks and oversee automation upgrades.
• Support Capital Projects through designs, programming, or coordination with third parties.
• Define scope to ensure effective implementation and ensure safety documentation (FDS) is in place.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and Plant personnel for control system support and troubleshooting.
• Lead alarm management improvement activities and document control system layouts and diagrams.
• Ensure site standards for control systems are met and maintain mechanical integrity of automation.

This includes programming, configuring and troubleshooting the entire process control network. Responsible for the troubleshooting and configuration of the systems in all plants on site. Supports the configuration work associated with W&E for the site. Drives the standards for the site for the DCS system. Ensure plant productivity needsare met as related to the control systems. Run monthly, quarterly and annualreports and backups as needed and work with technical team to respond tofindings. Determine areas of improvement (i.e. low memory and limitedprocessing capabilities) and drive projects to complete improvements.Support the technical team in automation configuration issues related to theCapital Projects. This involves either completing the designs & programmingor just coordinating with third party resources to ensure completion of work.Assist in the definition of scope to ensure effective implementation. EnsureFDS are in place for all processes in the siteCoordinate with Maintenance and Plant personnel and provide control systemsupport for plant troubleshooting. Lead the alarm management improvementactivities.Write and update plant control system documentation including logic diagrams,interlock lists, sequence flow charts, database documentation, control systemlayout drawings, etc. This includes the confirmation of all documentation fromproject implementation is received and filed appropriately.Work alongside the technical team to ensure that all plant standards related tothe Site's control systems are met.Responsible for the mechanical integrity of the automation systems.
