Job summary

The City of New York's Department of Correction is seeking NYS DCJS certified General Topics Instructors to plan and deliver training for the Academy’s recruit and in-service programs, including new hire orientation and professional development, ensuring adherence to DOC policies and NYS DCJS guidelines.

Selected instructors will assess classroom progress, assist with lesson plan creation and revision, advise leadership on training efficiency, and perform other duties as assigned to support the

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree and two years of related experience.
• High school diploma and six years of related experience.
• Equivalent combination with at least one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver classes for recruit and in-service training programs.
• Assess learning in class and ensure alignment to policies and guidelines.
• Create and revise training lesson plans and materials; advise leadership.
• Support division leadership and perform other duties as assigned.
