Job summary

The Atlantic Council in Washington, DC offers a Young Global Professionals internship in the GeoTech Center. This role bridges technologists and policymakers, with a mix of substantive, operational, administrative, and technical support for think tank initiatives.

Based in our Washington, DC headquarters, the internship requires a minimum of four days per week in the office and pays $18.50 per hour. Availability to work in person will be favored and strong research and writing skills are

Qualifications

• Must be at least a college junior, graduate student, or a recent graduate.
• Able to work full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (20-30 hours/week).
• Describe interest in the intersection of emerging technologies and geopolitics in your cover letter.
• Experience with policy memos, press releases, briefing materials, etc.
• Ability to communicate complex scientific topics to a non-scientific audience.
• Interest in event planning and execution.
• Superb attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Stellar time management and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office is highly preferred.
• Experience with Java and GitHub is a plus.
• Proficiency in a second language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with logistics for events, including drafting invitations, preparing agendas, compiling briefing memos, and staffing panels and conferences.
• Contribute to research and editing for reports, papers, and memos.
• Track current emerging technology policies and legislation.
• Write analytical pieces for Atlantic Council blogs.
• Represent the Council at events around DC and share event recaps with staff.
• Assist with social media to promote events.
• Take notes at events for internal and external distribution.
