Job summary

The American Action Forum invites you to join its Technology and Innovation Policy internship in Washington, DC. As an intern, you will report to the Director of Technology and Innovation Policy and assist with research, data collection, and policy analysis across telecommunications, social media, and AI policy.

The role is part-time, paid, requires 20–29 hours per week in the DC office, and you will gain hands-on experience by attending hearings and events, building a portfolio, and presenting

Qualifications

  • Excellent writing ability and communication skills.
  • Interest in center-right politics and policies.
  • Demonstrated interest in technology issues.
  • Self-starter attitude.
  • Strong quantitative skills are desirable.
  • Experience using legal databases such as Westlaw or Lexis.

Responsibilities

  • Research assistance: provide research help and data collection for the issue area director.
  • Event attendance: attend Capitol Hill hearings and other events to analyze and report on information presented.
  • Forum event support: help promote, run, and evaluate Forum events.
  • Portfolio and final presentation: build a portfolio and present work to the team.
