Job summary

Jetro Restaurant Depot is seeking a Shipping Manager-DC to oversee the Shipping Department, including loading/unloading, paperwork, and equipment operators. The role emphasizes safe operations, accuracy, and hands-on labor in a Distribution Center.

The position requires supervising staff, training, scheduling, and collaborating with HR and the Branch Manager on hires, with a focus on timely and precise order fulfillment and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of customer service or related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret general business materials and procedures.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure trucks are loaded per manifest and accurate paperwork is completed.
• Supervise and collaborate with other managers to meet goals.
• Develop schedules, monitor performance and apply discipline as needed.
• Train staff on responsibilities and safety procedures.
• Participate in hiring decisions with HR and the Branch Manager.
• Ensure timely, accurate order picking and processing in the DC.
• Review stock and staging lanes for accuracy and proper loading.
• Follow load optimization to maximize cube and weight.
• Maintain equipment and report malfunctions to management.
• Maintain area cleanliness via regular maintenance and scrubbing.
• Escalate WMS issues and process opportunities to leadership.
• Communicate inventory concerns to Inventory Controller.
• Perform weekly self-audits of lanes and docks; participate in KPI reviews.
• Support DC cleanliness, organization and overall success.
• Strengthen team knowledge and skills to improve DC performance.
