We're an independent retirement plan administration firm looking for a Defined Contribution Plan Administrator to join a team of people who are passionate about the details and committed to great service.
About the Role
You'll guide clients and referral partners through the full life of their retirement plans, from the first design conversation to the final Form 5500. You'll be a trusted resource for plan sponsors, their CPAs, and their financial advisors, and you'll work in a culture that believes the best client service comes from a team that feels supported. Our approach blends personal service with modern tools. Clients reach a real person when they call, and our technology takes care of repetitive tasks so you can focus on meaningful work.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and review annual valuation reports for defined contribution plans, drawing on plan documents and participant data
- Review compliance and nondiscrimination testing, including 401(a)(4), 410(b), 414(s), 402(g), and 415, and prepare and review IRS filings such as Form 5500
- Calculate minimum and maximum contribution allocations to build plan illustrations
- Act as a main point of contact for clients, coordinating with their CPAs and advisors
- Review plan amendments and confirm that executed copies are on file
- Work with our business development and onboarding team on proposals and technical guidance for prospective clients and their advisors
What You Bring
- At least 2 years of retirement plan administration experience, ideally with smaller defined contribution plans (under 100 participants)
- Experience with administration software such as PensionPro, DATAIR, or ftwilliam is a plus
- An ASPPA, NIPA, or similar credential, or a real interest in earning one
- Comfort explaining qualified plan concepts clearly to clients and referral sources
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance competing deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
What Makes Someone Thrive Here
- A sharp eye for detail: You catch what others miss.
- A problem-solving mindset: You spot an issue, propose a fix, and see it through.
- A love of learning and teaching: You enjoy staying current on a changing industry and sharing what you know.
- A client-first outlook: You want every client interaction to leave them feeling well cared for.
- Adaptability: You're open to trying new approaches and learning from what doesn't work.
