Job summary

University of Western States seeks a Part-Time Adjunct Instructor for the DC Program. You will prepare lessons, teach procedures, and support student learning across Chiropractic Technique, Clinical Education, and Basic Sciences.

You will create syllabi, administer exams, grade them, and contribute to student evaluations, while maintaining a safe classroom and advancing core values.

Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience in a university or professional education program.
• Graduate of a CCE-accredited Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) program; active Oregon license if teaching technique courses.
• Experience in teaching chiropractic techniques, clinical education, or basic sciences.

Responsibilities

• Prepares lessons and teaches procedures per syllabus.
• Demonstrates and monitors student practice of proper skills and patient interactions.
• Compiles, administers, and grades examinations.
• Maintains a safe classroom environment.
• Creates syllabi and course outlines.
• Contributes to evaluations of students’ non-cognitive behavior.
• Maintains expertise in area of instruction.

2. POSITION SUMMARY

Thispositioncoversadjunctinstructionfor the DC Program.Coursesmay include those in the Chiropractic Technique, Clinical Education, or Basic Sciences departments.Possible coursesavailableincludecoursein radiographic positioning,physiologictherapeutics, and foundational sciences.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares lessons and teaches procedures based on existing syllabus.50%
• Demonstrates and monitorsstudentpractice ofproperskills technique and patient interactions(as applicable). 25%
• Compiles, administers, andgradesexaminations.10%

5. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Required

Education & Training

• Prior teaching experience in a university or professional education program

Certifications & Licenses

• Graduate of a CCE-accredited Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) program.Not required for all courses.
• Maintain an active license to practice as a chiropractic physician in the state of Oregon (oracquiresuch licensure shortly afterhire).Required for anyone teachingtechniquecourses.

• Have sufficient manual dexterity tooperatepertinent tools and/or equipment as instructional activities demand.
