Job summary

Vertiv seeks an Electrical Engineer, DC Power in Lorain, OH, to advance modular power converter designs and related control hardware. You will execute electrical design tasks, support NPI, and sustain existing products across the full DC power ecosystem, partnering with global teams and contributing to documentation and test procedures.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years in power electronics, robust circuit design and PCB experience, and familiarity with UL/NEBS/NEC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in power electronics, power systems, or electrical product development.
• Experience with circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
• Knowledge of power conversion topologies (AC-DC, DC-DC) and power distribution systems.
• Experience with design verification testing and lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, DMMs).
• Familiarity with industry standards (UL, NEBS, NEC) as applied to power equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support NPI activities: prototype builds, design verification testing, and manufacturing handoff docs
• Perform circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout reviews for power electronics and control circuits
• Support cost-reduction and performance improvements through VAVE initiatives
• Assist with product sustaining activities: ECOs, design updates, obsolescence management, field issue resolution
• Conduct design verification and validation testing; document results and support compliance submissions
• Collaborate with global engineering teams on reviews and issue resolution
• Support Customer Solutions and Proposals with technical input on configurations
• Create and maintain technical documentation: design specs, test procedures, and reports
