Job summary

Van Meter Inc. in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Commodities Supervisor to lead our distribution center operations, guide daily priorities, and drive projects across the department.

This role focuses on safety, process improvement, and delivering reliable service to customers. You will supervise a team, manage the department budget, coordinate with other functions, and implement best practices across locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of a two year degree preferred.
• Distribution center leadership experience preferred.
• Electrical product knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs required; lift 100 lbs at times.
• Forklift operation required; Excel, Eclipse and RF Scan knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety initiatives and ensure compliance.
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to team members.
• Analyze daily reports, metric data, and spreadsheets to identify opportunities.
• Oversee picking, transfers, and error reporting; ensure accurate customer orders and returns.
• Oversee daily production schedule and maintain smooth production levels.
• Promote continuous improvement and 5 P's; train new team members.
